Course Description:

Slade Valley is a magnificent 18-hole Parkland course set in the Dublin Mountains above Saggart Village, with panoramic views of the City, the Dublin Wicklow Mountains and Blessington Lakes. Slade has a great variety of testing and memorable holes from the 3rd where the big hitters often try to take on the green by cutting the corner to their left, fail and you are re-loading try it again and you are re-loading again take it from me. The 11th at Slade 373 metres all up hill will take two of the best shots you have in your bag to get home. The finishing hole is a superb test of golf as even when you get home in two you are far from guaranteed your par as this green leaves some of the greens at Augusta looking easy. Slade has a magnificent clubhouse and the members are as friendly as you will find anywhere.

The team was Gillian Harris, Louise Harris, Jean Carroll, Jo Clarke and Noreen O'Grady.

Terry Lilly achieved the impossible on 21st of December 1997 by having two holes-in-one, on the same day, on the same hole, with the same ball, the same club and the same flight of the ball in competition. It was a 12-hole re-enter. Can anybody beat that?

This is the home club of my good friend Kevin Blounnt, who played in goal into his 50s for Shelburne, Bohs and any other club who would have him!. Known as the "Black Cat". Kevin holds the course record in Slade. He played on a team for me in a charity at Blainroe G.C., I put him out with three "young tigers". They won, and Kevin said to me after "I've played with good players in my time, but where did you get this three."
